Aliens in the Attic starring Ashley Tisdale is out now on DVD and Blu-ray, so we caught up with the starlet to chat about martians, movies and music!

Did you have fun making the film?
Yes. I loved working with Director, John Schutz. He's amazing and great with kids, which was really important on this. The cast were awesome and because we shot in New Zealand it was like making a movie on vacation. Every weekend we all hung out and went to the beach.

Did you have a favourite moment on set?
There were so many great moments and I never managed to keep a straight face. Off-camera we were all singing non-stop musical numbers; entertaining the younger kids. Ashley [Boettcher who plays Hannah Pearson] was so impressed she printed off the lyrics to Rock Star by Hannah Montana and forced me to sing it to her. Constantly.

What's next for you right now?
After my birthday vacation - I'm off tomorrow - I go back to touring Europe promoting the album. Life is crazy. Non stop.

What do you do when you do get a moment off?
When I'm free all I want to do is go home to LA and chill out with family and friends. I have my dog, Maui, a teacup Maltese Poodle who fits in the palm of my hand. I don't exactly have to walk him, because he goes 10 feet and gets hot, but we cruise around and take in the neighbourhood.

Who were your role models growing up?
My Mum and my sister. Never celebrities. I think kids need people that are reachable and for me it was my Mum because she is confident, strong and I wouldn't be here without her.

Where do you see yourself in five years time?
I don't look that far ahead. Day to day I have so much to do it's overwhelming. If I am doing what I'm doing right now, I'll be happy. But as far as seeing into the future, I think it's unpredictable.
