Katy Perry would "ditch" her singing career to be an 'American Idol' judge.

The singer - who was recently a guest judge on the series - would consider quitting her pop star life for a permanent role on the TV talent show because she enjoyed how fun and easy it was.

She told MTV: "The 'American Idol' experience was awesome. If I was offered that job as a permanent host, I would ditch my career and take on that career. It's such a fun, easy thing. It's kind of like judging a talent show!"

The 25-year-old star went on to the programme with the aim to be an "honest judge" like Simon Cowell.
